4Český Krumlov, Czech Republic
Tucked into a bend of the Vltava River, Český Krumlov is crowned by a magnificent castle complex overlooking red-tiled roofs.
While it’s no longer entirely unknown, it remains far less crowded than Prague. Renaissance and Baroque buildings line cobbled streets, and the riverside setting creates postcard views from nearly every angle. Visit in autumn or winter for a more intimate experience.
