10Red Beach, Matala – Crete

Hidden behind a rocky hill south of the village of Matala, Red Beach is a secluded spot that has long attracted naturists and free spirits.
Accessible only by a 30-minute hike or a short boat ride, this small crescent of reddish sand and turquoise water feels far removed from the tourist crowds. Most visitors choose to go nude, especially on the southern end of the beach.
Why it stands out: Unique red sand, privacy, and a bohemian vibe.
