8Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is world-famous for its canals, museums, and liberal culture, but residents have grown tired of unruly behavior from visitors. Bachelor parties, cannabis tourism, and rowdy nightlife in the Red Light District have caused friction.

Locals complain about noise, rising rents, and the sense that the city has become a playground rather than a home. In response, authorities have banned guided tours of the Red Light District, limited alcohol sales, and run campaigns discouraging “party tourism.”
