9Pyrgos, Santorini

While Oia takes the spotlight, Pyrgos offers a quieter, more authentic experience. Once Santorini’s capital, this medieval village is perched on a hill, providing panoramic views of the island.

Its labyrinth of narrow paths leads to a Venetian castle, traditional houses, and quaint cafes. Pyrgos is also an excellent place to experience Easter celebrations, famous for their candlelit processions.
