As Greece’s largest island, Crete offers endless coastlines, but certain spots stand out for their extraordinary colors. Balos Lagoon, near Chania, looks like a painter’s palette of turquoise, teal, and sapphire.

Elafonissi Beach, with its pink sand and shallow lagoons, offers waters that look like liquid glass. In the south, Seitan Limania is a narrow, rocky cove with water so vividly blue it almost glows. Crete proves that size comes with spectacular variety.
