4Mesa Gonia – The Ghost Village of Santorini

Abandoned after the 1956 earthquake, Mesa Gonia (also known as Episkopi Gonia) is often called the “ghost village.”

Many of its stone houses stand in ruins, but a few have been restored, offering a fascinating glimpse into the island’s history. It’s also home to several excellent wineries, including the famous Canava Roussos, where visitors can taste Santorini’s signature Assyrtiko wines.
