3Archaeological Site of Ancient Thera

While the prehistoric site of Akrotiri is well known, Ancient Thera often gets overlooked. Located high on Mesa Vouno mountain, it requires a winding drive or hike, but the views and ruins are worth it.

The site includes remnants of Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine settlements, with ancient streets, temples, and an amphitheater overlooking the sea. Few tourists venture here, making it a serene archaeological experience.
