Santorini’s weather is usually dry and sunny, but the island has its quirks. The breeze can turn strong and chilly in the evenings, especially near the caldera.
Many travelers pack too lightly and find themselves shivering at night—or, conversely, overpack and struggle with steep stairs and compact rooms. Bring lightweight layers, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunscreen. If you’re planning a boat tour or beach day, a swimsuit and water shoes will come in handy. Luggage-wise, go light—many hotels require navigating steps or even donkeys to reach your room.
