The war in Yemen remains one of the longest and most complicated conflicts in the modern Middle East. It began in 2014 when Houthi movement rebels seized the capital city of Sanaa.

A regional coalition led by Saudi Arabia intervened to support the Yemeni government. Although temporary ceasefires have reduced some fighting, clashes still occur in several parts of the country. The war has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, with millions of people facing hunger and limited access to healthcare.
