Tucked away in the Dolomites, Lago di Braies (or Lake Braies) is a mountain dreamscape with emerald-turquoise waters that change color with the light. Its mirror-like surface reflects the dramatic peaks and pine forests that surround it.

In summer, visitors can rent wooden rowboats to glide across the lake’s surface, while in early autumn, the colors become even more enchanting. The water here is icy but so clear you can see every rock on the lakebed.
