Lefkada, connected to mainland Greece by a causeway, boasts some of Europe’s brightest turquoise waters. The crown jewel is Porto Katsiki, a spectacular beach framed by steep white cliffs.

The contrast between the limestone, golden sand, and glowing blue water is breathtaking. The sea is so transparent you can watch fish darting between your toes even in waist-deep water. Arrive just before sunset to see the cliffs glow orange and the turquoise sea deepen to sapphire.
