10Olympos, Karpathos

Perched high in the mountains of Karpathos, Olympos feels like a living museum. The village was isolated for centuries, which allowed its inhabitants to preserve old customs, clothing, and dialect.

Walking through Olympos, you’ll see women dressed in traditional costumes, wood-fired bread ovens, and colorful houses stacked against steep cliffs. It’s one of the few places in Greece where daily life still echoes the rhythms of the past, complete with folk music and handmade crafts.
