7Zagorohoria, Epirus

In the rugged Pindus Mountains of northern Greece lies Zagorohoria, a cluster of 46 stone-built villages. Each village—such as Papingo, Monodendri, or Aristi—features slate-roofed houses, stone bridges, and cobbled paths that blend seamlessly into the natural landscape.

This region has preserved its traditional architecture and tranquil character thanks to its remoteness. Hiking trails connect the villages, making it an enchanting area to explore on foot, especially near the dramatic Vikos Gorge.
