3Stemnitsa, Arcadia

Nestled in the mountains of Arcadia in the Peloponnese, Stemnitsa is a classic stone-built village with a history dating back to Byzantine times.

Known as a center of goldsmithing and silversmithing, it still has workshops where artisans practice age-old crafts. Surrounded by lush forests and hiking trails leading into the Lousios Gorge, Stemnitsa is a serene escape. Its red-tiled roofs, old churches, and quiet squares make it one of Greece’s best-preserved mountain villages.
