5Skaros Rock (Imerovigli)

Imerovigli, often called the “balcony of the Aegean,” is famous for its elevated views, but many visitors don’t venture beyond the main paths.

Skaros Rock, a massive promontory that juts out dramatically into the caldera, requires a short hike but rewards you with stunning panoramic sunsets. While Imerovigli itself has its fair share of luxury hotels, the walk to Skaros thins out the crowds. Once you reach the viewpoint, the sight of the sun setting behind the caldera cliffs is nothing short of magical. Just remember to wear sturdy shoes—the path is rocky but absolutely worth it.
