The Sporades- The most charming, the most enchanting islands in the Aegean. The abundant greenery and the emerald water around the shores is reminiscent of neighbouring Pelion.
Skiathos is the nearest to this beautiful mountain and it’s the most touristically developed island with some of the most dazzling beaches in Greece.
Skiathos was one of the first unknown paradises to be discovered. Until then it was only known from the short stories of Papadiamantis.
During the last few decades, luxury hotels slowly began to be built along its lovely sand beaches, tourist activity continuously grew and Skiathos became one of the most cosmopolitan islands in the Aegean. Life on Skiathos has changed a great deal since the days it was discovered but its celebrated beaches are still beautiful and the narrow lanes of Chora are still picturesque as ever.
On one of them is the house of Papadiamantidis, untouched by the passing of time.
Skiathos is the first island you will come across east of Pelion. The island lies 41 nautical miles from Volos and 44 nautical miles from Agios Konstantinos. Its low hills are covered with pine trees and there are many little and large bays with wonderful sand beaches.
