3Marpissa – A Step Back in Time
Located near the eastern coast, Marpissa retains a strong sense of local identity. The village climbs gently uphill, with traditional houses and small chapels scattered throughout.
Unlike more touristic areas of Paros, Marpissa feels deeply residential. Laundry hangs from balconies, doors are left open, and daily life continues at a steady pace regardless of the season.
One of its highlights is the Byzantine-era architecture visible in small churches and historic homes. Visiting during late afternoon, when the light softens and the streets grow quieter, reveals the village at its most beautiful.
