7Mount Olympus – The Throne of the Gods

Perhaps the most famous mythical location, Mount Olympus was believed to be the home of Zeus and the Olympian gods. Rising majestically to nearly 3,000 meters, it is Greece’s highest peak and a UNESCO-listed biosphere reserve.

Ancient Greeks viewed its cloud-covered summit as divine and unreachable. Today, hikers can explore its trails, visit mountain refuges, and even climb to Mytikas, its highest point. Standing on Olympus, it’s easy to imagine the gods watching over the mortal world.
