6Alexander the Great Created One of the Largest Empires in History

Alexander the Great, the king of Macedonia, built one of the largest empires the world has ever seen. By the time of his death in 323 BCE, his empire stretched from Greece to Egypt and as far east as India.

His conquests spread Greek culture, language, and ideas across vast regions, an era now referred to as the Hellenistic period. Many cities he founded, including Alexandria in Egypt, became centers of learning and culture.
