Both islands boast incredible beaches, but they differ in style and accessibility.
Paros offers a mix of lively and serene beaches. Kolymbithres is famous for its unusual rock formations, while Golden Beach attracts windsurfers and kitesurfers. For a quieter experience, Santa Maria or Faragas are excellent options. Most beaches are relatively close to the main towns, making day trips convenient.
Naxos is renowned for its long stretches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, and Plaka are popular for families and sunbathers, while smaller beaches like Mikri Vigla cater to wind and kite surfers. Naxos offers more variety in terms of beach length and seclusion.
Verdict: For surfing or shorter beach trips, Paros is ideal. For long, sandy stretches and family-friendly beaches, Naxos takes the lead.
