For a sailing adventure through lush landscapes and quiet bays, the Sporades islands are an excellent choice. These islands, located in the northwest Aegean, offer some of the greenest scenery in Greece and a laid-back atmosphere. Skiathos is the most famous of the Sporades, known for its vibrant town and more than 60 sandy beaches, including Koukounaries, often ranked among Greece’s best. Just a short sail away, Skopelos is a paradise of pine-covered hills and crystal-clear waters. The island gained worldwide fame as a filming location for the movie Mamma Mia!, and its scenic beaches and charming villages make it a fantastic stop.

Alonissos is a dream destination for nature lovers, home to Greece’s largest marine park. The waters around Alonissos are rich in marine life, and lucky sailors might spot the endangered Mediterranean monk seal. The nearby island of Skyros, with its dramatic cliffs and traditional stone houses, is another rewarding stop.
