5Mycenae – The Kingdom of Agamemnon

Mycenae, a UNESCO-listed site in the northeastern Peloponnese, was one of the most powerful city-states of the late Bronze Age.

The famous Lion Gate, Cyclopean walls, and the beehive-shaped Treasury of Atreus reflect the grandeur of this once-mighty civilization. It is often linked to Homer’s epic tales of the Trojan War.
