10The Mask of Agamemnon

Discovered by Heinrich Schliemann in 1876 at the site of Mycenae, the Mask of Agamemnon is a gold funerary mask dated to around 1500 BCE.
Though it was initially believed to belong to the legendary King Agamemnon, modern scholars question this attribution. Nevertheless, the mask remains a symbol of Mycenaean craftsmanship and funerary practices.
