7The Venus de Milo

One of the most famous sculptures from Ancient Greece, the Venus de Milo, is believed to represent Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty.

Dating from around 130 BCE, this marble statue was discovered on the island of Milos in 1820 and is now displayed in the Louvre Museum. Its missing arms only add to its air of mystery and allure.
