Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades, is known for its rich history dating back to ancient times. The iconic Portara, a massive marble doorway that was part of an unfinished temple dedicated to Apollo, stands as the island’s most famous landmark.

Naxos is also home to several ancient ruins, including the Temple of Demeter and the Kouros statues. Its Venetian-era Kastro district further enriches the historical landscape of the island.
