Known as the “Jerusalem of the Aegean,” Patmos is a sacred island for Christian history enthusiasts.

The Cave of the Apocalypse is believed to be where St. John the Theologian wrote the Book of Revelation. The Monastery of St. John, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dominates the island’s skyline and contains an invaluable collection of religious artifacts, manuscripts, and frescoes.
