6Drakolimni, Epirus – The Dragon Lake of Greece

Hidden in the Pindus Mountains, Drakolimni is one of the most surreal landscapes in Greece.

This alpine lake, situated at 2,050 meters above sea level, is surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and home to rare amphibians called alpine newts. The hike to the lake is challenging, but the stunning scenery makes it worth every step.
