One of Mykonos’ most famous residents was Petros the Pelican, a beloved bird that became the island’s official mascot.

Petros was found injured by a local fisherman in the 1950s and became a permanent resident of the island. Even after his passing, his legacy continues, with several pelicans still roaming around Mykonos Town, much to the delight of visitors.
