6Ignoring Local Etiquette

Many tourists are unaware of certain local customs or behaviors, such as being quiet in churches, not flushing toilet paper (due to old plumbing systems), or how to properly greet people. 

While Greeks are generally warm and forgiving, some basic awareness goes a long way.

Tip: Learn a few Greek phrases and respect local norms. A simple “Kalimera” (Good morning) can open many doors.
