10Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach), Zakynthos

One of the most photographed beaches in the world, Navagio’s towering cliffs and iconic shipwreck attract thousands of visitors each summer.

But the beach’s isolation and geography make it perilous. Surrounded by high limestone walls, it is accessible only by boat, meaning emergency response is limited. Rockslides from the cliffs have occurred multiple times, injuring swimmers. Strong currents can also make the waters unsafe for inexperienced swimmers. The breathtaking view hides serious risks, especially during peak tourist season.
