Santorini’s Red Beach, with its volcanic red cliffs and sand, is an iconic sight. Unfortunately, it is also one of the island’s most dangerous spots.

Landslides from the fragile cliffs have forced authorities to issue warnings and occasionally close access to the beach. Despite signs, many visitors still venture down, risking injury. The rocky seabed also makes swimming risky, especially for inexperienced beachgoers.
