1Quepos Bridge (“Bridge of Death”), Costa Rica

Known locally as the Puente de la Muerte (“Bridge of Death”), the old Quepos Bridge in Costa Rica has gained a notorious reputation.  

Originally built for trains, it was later converted for cars, despite being barely wide enough for a single vehicle. Its rusting metal framework and creaking wooden planks make every crossing feel like a gamble. Although a newer, safer bridge now exists nearby, thrill-seekers still test their courage on the old one.
