8Getting There and Around

Most travelers arrive via international airports on Corfu, Zakynthos, or Kefalonia. Lefkada is unique because it is connected to the mainland by a bridge, making it accessible by car. Ferries also link many of the islands, although schedules can vary, especially outside peak season. 

Once you arrive, renting a car is highly recommended. Public transportation exists but is limited, and many of the most beautiful beaches and hidden villages are only accessible by car. Driving allows you to explore at your own pace and discover lesser-known gems.
