Ionian beaches are incredibly diverse. Some, like those in Lefkada, feature dramatic cliffs and deep waters, which can mean strong waves. Others are calm and family-friendly. Many beaches are pebbly rather than sandy, so water shoes can be helpful.Â
Also, access to some of the most famous beaches may involve steep walks or steps. Always check conditions beforehand and bring water, especially during hot summer days.
