2Artemision Bronze

This remarkable bronze sculpture, recovered from a shipwreck near Cape Artemision, is believed to depict either Zeus or Poseidon.  

The dynamic pose, outstretched arm, and poised movement highlight the Greek mastery of balance and motion. The statue is housed in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
