2Mon Repos Estate

Mon Repos Estate is one of Corfu’s most historically significant and serene cultural sites. Set within a lush park just outside Corfu Town, it was once a royal residence and is famously the birthplace of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Today, the neoclassical villa houses a museum dedicated to Corfu’s modern history.

Beyond its royal associations, Mon Repos sits on land rich with ancient ruins, including remains of the ancient city of Paleopolis. Walking through the estate feels like moving through layers of time—ancient, neoclassical, and modern—all framed by olive trees and sea views. It’s an ideal place to combine history, nature, and quiet reflection.
