3Thassos – The Green Jewel of the North

Thassos, often called “the Emerald Island of the Aegean,” is one of Greece’s greenest islands, dominated by pine forests, olive groves, and lush valleys. Unlike many Greek islands, Thassos remains green throughout the year thanks to its natural springs and abundant vegetation.

The island is also known for its marble quarries, producing some of the finest white marble in the world. The Drakotrypa Cave is a hidden gem within dense forests. The village of Theologos is surrounded by greenery and waterfalls, while the Ipsarion Mountain provides panoramic views over the island’s verdant landscapes.
