Lauterbrunnen is one of those destinations that almost looks edited. The valley is surrounded by enormous limestone cliffs, with waterfalls dropping dramatically from the mountainsides.
The village itself is peaceful, but the surrounding region offers access to some of Switzerland’s most spectacular alpine landscapes. Nearby mountain destinations provide panoramic views of snow-covered peaks, while hiking trails reveal meadows, forests and traditional Swiss scenery.
Lauterbrunnen is especially magical when the waterfalls are flowing strongly and the surrounding peaks remain covered in snow. It is a place where simply looking around can feel like enough of an activity.
