8Český Krumlov, Czechia

Český Krumlov looks like someone designed a medieval town specifically for a fantasy film.

The historic center curls around the Vltava River, with colorful Renaissance and Baroque buildings packed into a maze of winding streets. Above everything rises the enormous Český Krumlov Castle.

From the castle tower, the town appears almost miniature, with orange rooftops and winding streets filling the landscape below.

Its compact size makes it ideal for wandering without a plan, discovering quiet courtyards, old cafés and unexpected viewpoints along the way.
