6Symi – A Pastel-Colored Escape

Approaching Symi by ferry feels like arriving inside a painting. The island’s harbor is lined with elegant neoclassical mansions painted in shades of yellow, pink, blue, and terracotta.

Unlike many Greek islands dominated by white architecture, Symi has a sophisticated and colorful atmosphere shaped by its maritime history. Narrow stairways climb the hills above the harbor, revealing stunning sea views and quiet corners filled with bougainvillea.

The island is also known for crystal-clear swimming spots accessible only by boat. Places like Agios Georgios Dysalonas are surrounded by towering cliffs that make the water appear impossibly blue.
