5Italy Offers More Variety Beyond Summer
Italy can be a fantastic destination almost all year.
Spring is ideal for exploring cities and countryside, while autumn brings pleasant temperatures, harvests and colorful landscapes. Winter can mean Christmas markets, museums without peak-season crowds or skiing in the Alps.
Greece is also increasingly rewarding outside the traditional summer season. Larger destinations such as Athens, Crete and Corfu remain active beyond the busiest months, while the shoulder seasons can provide a much quieter experience.
However, if you’re planning a winter city break, Italy generally gives you more options.
