7Mykonos (Μύκονος)

Mykonos was named after Mykons, a hero and grandson of Apollo. According to legend, Mykons was a local ruler and was honored by having the island named after him.

The island is also associated with the battle between Zeus and the Titans, where Hercules is said to have defeated giants and thrown them into the sea, forming the rocky terrain of Mykonos.
