9Amorgos – Wild Beauty in the Cyclades
Although it belongs to the Cyclades, Amorgos feels worlds away from the crowded tourist hotspots nearby. Dramatic cliffs plunge into sapphire waters, hiking paths connect peaceful villages, and traditional windmills overlook the sea.
The island’s most iconic landmark is the cliffside Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, which appears almost suspended above the Aegean.
Instead of beach clubs and luxury shopping, visitors find quiet tavernas, family guesthouses, and villages where daily life continues much as it has for decades.
