6Loukoumades (Greece)
Often described as Greek doughnuts, Loukoumades are small balls of fried dough that are crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. They are traditionally drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon or crushed walnuts.
Although simple, they are incredibly addictive. Modern versions may include chocolate sauce, pistachio cream, or even ice cream, but the classic honey-covered recipe remains the favorite.
These sweet bites have been enjoyed in Greece since ancient times and continue to be one of the country’s most popular street desserts.
