2Kataifi (Greece)
Kataifi is one of Greece’s most visually striking desserts. Instead of phyllo sheets, it uses finely shredded pastry that resembles delicate threads.
The pastry is wrapped around a filling of walnuts, almonds, or pistachios before baking until golden and soaking in aromatic syrup. Every bite combines crunchy pastry, fragrant spices, and sweet honey syrup.
Kataifi shares similarities with baklava but offers an entirely different texture, making it a favorite among dessert lovers.
