10Folegandros, Greece

Folegandros is one of the Greek islands where the concept of rushing seems almost unnecessary. Located in the Cyclades, it has dramatic cliffs, quiet beaches, whitewashed houses and a beautiful hilltop Chora.

The island’s compact main town is made for slow evenings. Wander through its narrow streets, sit in a traditional square with a glass of local wine or enjoy a long Greek dinner without checking the time.

Folegandros also has spectacular views over the Aegean, particularly around the Church of Panagia above Chora. There are no enormous resorts competing for attention, which makes the island especially appealing for travelers looking for a quieter Greek escape.
