Begin your Santorini adventure in Fira, the island’s lively capital. Perched on the edge of the caldera, Fira offers breathtaking views of the volcanic islands and the deep blue Aegean Sea. Spend the morning wandering through its narrow streets lined with boutique shops, cafés, and local restaurants.
Visit the Archaeological Museum of Thera or simply enjoy a leisurely coffee overlooking the cliffs. The caldera views are especially beautiful during the early hours when the town is quieter.
In the afternoon, walk along the scenic cliffside path toward Firostefani. This short and easy route provides some of the best panoramic views on the island and plenty of photo opportunities.
As evening approaches, settle into a restaurant or viewpoint and enjoy your first Santorini sunset. While Oia often receives most of the attention, sunsets from Fira are equally spectacular and generally less crowded.
