8Finnish Archipelago Islands
Prices can start well below €500,000
Finland is one of Europe’s most interesting countries for budget-conscious private-island buyers.
Its enormous archipelago contains thousands of islands and islets, and the market includes small private islands, many with traditional cabins, saunas or other structures.
Current island-market data identifies Finland among Europe’s lower-priced private-island markets, with some opportunities historically appearing around the €90,000–€200,000 range.
The experience is very different from owning a Mediterranean island. Think forests, rocky shorelines, peaceful lakes and long summer evenings rather than beach clubs and turquoise seas.
For a private retreat, however, it can be remarkably appealing.
