10Oia, Santorini, Greece

Few places in Europe have a more instantly recognizable fairytale appearance than Oia. Built dramatically along the cliffs of Santorini’s caldera, this enchanting village is a maze of whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches, winding paths and tiny cave homes.

The village becomes especially magical around sunset, when the buildings glow in warm shades of gold and pink. Its famous windmills, picturesque churches and spectacular views over the Aegean make Oia feel almost unreal.

While it is one of Greece’s most popular destinations, wandering away from the busiest streets reveals quieter corners that make the village even more charming.
