2Manarola, Italy
One of the smallest and most spectacular villages of Italy’s Cinque Terre, Manarola seems to cling impossibly to the Ligurian cliffs.
Its brightly colored houses cascade toward the Mediterranean, creating a dramatic contrast with the deep blue sea and green hillsides. Narrow lanes wind between the buildings, while vineyards cover the steep slopes surrounding the village.
At sunset, Manarola becomes particularly magical as the colorful houses catch the last light of the day.
